Sometimes when we’re on this journey to our hearts, we’re afraid we’ll get lost along the way– on narrow paths twisting like a riddle, disappearing into the woods.

What You’ll Find in the Storm
When you make your way back to the place where it happened,
… expect to see country undiscovered.
Expect to become lost on narrow paths
twisting like a riddle, disappearing into the woods.
It is a wild place, where winds blow and hard rain crashes down.
Stay, and you’ll be brought to your knees, with nowhere left to fall.
Who you think you are will be broken, washed away.
Then one day, stepping through the storm, a small girl –
looking back at you with your own eyes.
She’ll come into your arms, letting you hold her for the first time.
Only then, will you hear the sound of your deepest sorrow,
rising up in those words long waiting to be spoken –
I have come for you.
~Christine Flaherty
Then one day, stepping through the storm, a small girl (or boy) – looking back at you with your own eyes … she’ll (he’ll) come into your arms, letting you hold her (him) for the first time.
Then you hear the words of your own deepest longing, “I have come for you.” Restoring that primal connection.
When you make your way back to the place where it happened – where the disconnection took place, … expect to see country undiscovered. Country where you’re good just as you are. Where you know you belong. Where you tell your truth and others are delighted to know it.
Don’t we all want to find our way back to the place where it happened, and hope to know, really know, country undiscovered once again?
In peace and love, Teresa
